Feed My Sheep

I. Showing Our Love For God
a. Jesus ties our love for God to our love for others.
i. Matthew 22- The two (three) greatest commandments are to Love God and Love others as ourselves.
ii. 1 John 3:10- 10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
b. We are able to properly love God/others when we are following His commandments.
i. 1 John 4:21- And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.
ii. 1 John 5:2-4- 2This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world.
iii. We are not able to love God and love others without His Holy Spirit
1. 2 Timothy 1:7- 7For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
II. How do we feed His Sheep: What does the Lord command?
a. Micah 6:8- 8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

ii. Be an Ambassador of Reconciliation
1. 2 Corinthians 5- 20We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2. We are a new creation in Christ and he has destroyed what divides us.
iii. Be an Advocate for Justice!
1. The Good Samaritan- Start taking care of the street!
2. 1 Thessalonians 5- 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
3. Matthew 10- 18On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

i. Walk with Him by Seeking His Will
